Subscribe to unlock full leaderboardThe trending Shopify traffic leaderboard ranks the fastest-growing Shopify stores by month-over-month traffic growth, refreshed monthly from public data.
The trending Shopify traffic leaderboard ranks Shopify stores by how fast their estimated monthly visits are growing, highest growth first. It is the answer to the question "which Shopify stores are gaining audience right now", stores whose traffic has noticeably accelerated compared to the previous monthly snapshot.
Estimates come from our proprietary AI-powered analytics engine, which combines publicly available data from multiple sources to produce each store's monthly visit figure. The trending view compares the latest snapshot to the previous one and sorts by the change, so a store at the top of the leaderboard is the one with the largest month-over-month traffic acceleration.
Use this leaderboard to catch Shopify stores on the way up rather than after they have already arrived. It is complementary to Top (absolute audience size) and New (recently launched), Trending is specifically about traffic momentum. Free users see the topmost entries; full growth figures and deeper rankings are part of the Pro subscription.
When a Shopify store starts showing up on the trending traffic leaderboard, something is usually working, a viral product, a paid-ads breakthrough, an SEO hit. Catching those stores early gives you a window to study what is driving the acceleration before the story becomes public.
Pair trending stores with the Shopify App Detector to see which marketing and analytics apps each accelerating store runs. When a specific app combination shows up repeatedly across trending stores, that pattern is worth testing in your own acquisition stack.
Journalists and newsletter writers use the trending traffic leaderboard as a live discovery feed. The stores at the top are the ones gaining audience right now, which makes them ideal candidates for coverage that feels current rather than retrospective.
Ecommerce investors and brand aggregators use the trending traffic leaderboard as a live momentum feed. Traffic growth is a leading indicator of revenue growth, so accelerating stores are often interesting before they show up on any financial radar.
Researchers reach this leaderboard by searching for 'fastest growing Shopify stores', 'trending Shopify websites', 'rising Shopify brands', 'Shopify stores with fastest traffic growth', a Shopify momentum tracker, a Shopify growth tracker, or a Shopify competitor tracker. Whatever phrasing you use, this is the page that ranks Shopify stores by how fast their estimated monthly visits are growing.
Stores are ranked by month-over-month growth in estimated monthly visits. The store with the largest percentage jump from the previous monthly snapshot to the current one sits at #1. The ranking is recalculated every monthly refresh.
Trending is measured as the change in our estimated monthly visits figure between consecutive monthly snapshots. A trending store is one whose estimated traffic has noticeably increased in the most recent window, not a store that simply happens to be talked about on social.
Top ranks stores by absolute estimated monthly visits, it is a static ranking of "biggest audience overall". Trending ranks by how fast traffic is changing, it is a dynamic ranking of "fastest accelerating audience". A small store with fast growth can dominate Trending while never appearing on Top.
It refreshes on a monthly cycle. Each refresh compares the newest monthly snapshot against the previous one and recomputes the trending ranking so the list reflects the most recent month of traffic growth.
Yes, although it is uncommon. A recently launched store that grows fast in its second or third month can show up on both the New and Trending traffic leaderboards simultaneously, which is usually a very strong early signal worth watching closely.
Like our other estimates, growth figures are directional. They are reliable for spotting order-of-magnitude shifts and ranking stores relative to each other, but they should not be treated as audited analytics from a store's own Shopify or Google Analytics dashboard.
Trending is momentum-based, so a store drops off when its traffic growth flattens or reverses, not necessarily because its absolute traffic dropped. A mature store with huge traffic and flat growth sits at the top of Top but never appears on Trending.
Browse the trending traffic leaderboard and run stores through the Shopify Store Detector and App Detector to understand their category and tech stack. That combination gives you a fast map of which niches are currently accelerating and which tools the accelerating stores use.
Yes, the page and the topmost entries are free to view. Full growth percentages and deeper rankings are part of the Pro subscription.
No floor is applied, this view is a pure momentum ranking across every tracked store where we can compute month-over-month traffic growth. If you want accelerating stores that are also already large, cross-reference Trending against Top to find stores that sit on both lists.
General trend tools measure search-term popularity or social mentions, neither of which is the same as actual site traffic. SalesTracker's trending traffic leaderboard is computed on estimated visits directly, so it picks up stores whose audience is actually growing rather than just being talked about.
No. Browsing the leaderboard does not contact the listed merchants or leave any trace identifiable to them. Traffic estimation runs on our side using publicly available data.
